MAK not working after 11 months of operation, says  my Office 2010 Professional Pro  is not activated.

Hello

I hope someone out there can give me some assistance.

For almost a year, I have been a single user of M/S Office 2010 Professional Plus, Version 14.0.7153.5000 (32-bit), running on my PC using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.

It was installed by a computer tech who transferred all my data and files from on old computer to a more modern Dell CPU in mid-October 2014.

When I opened my M/S Outlook program last week, I was told This copy of Microsoft Office is not activated.  When I tried to activate by entering the same 25-digit product key code that was successfully used originally and working for these past 10+ months, I was told the activation failed.  It gives me Error Code: 0xCOO4F074.

The product key code - that has been working since inception and until last week - is: xxx

New: Just today for the first time, when I open any Office program, ALL the color schemes on my screen for all programs and websites plus a lot of icons appear weird (almost like a negative in photography, like reversed.) Yikes

I dont want my Office programs to stop working altogether when the remaining 18 days expires.  Can anyone  help me?  Thanks.

The product key you've listed there, is the generic key, used by all Volume Licensing customers around the world. This key is called a KMSclient key, and can only become activated when the computer is able to contact a KMShost server inside an organisation that has implemented such a server. The error code 0xC004F074 is explained as: "The Software Protection Service reported that the computer could not be activated. No Key Management Service (KMS) could be contacted."

This error code makes sense, if your computer is configured to expect a KMShost server but cannot contact a KMShost server.

So, assuming that you have a company/organisational licensing entitlement to this VL product, or it's some type of an employment benefit (perhaps via the Home Use Program "HUP"), you should check into that arrangement via your employer.

If instead you personally purchased a "Retail" product of Office, either in a store or online, it would seem to me that you have somehow got the wrong type of product installed to your com
